Created as part of a team for the Hands-On PCB Engineering DeCal course.
I designed most of the schematic and did the layout for this voice recorder inspired by the carrot pen from Zootopia. It is a simple 2-layer PCB powered by an ESP32-S3-WROOM. It has a DAC and amplifier for an external speaker, a microphone, a MicroSD card reader for storage and playback, and power management circuit with a charge controller for a 1S LiPo.
I also designed an enclosure for it in OnShape in the shape of a carrot. I’m particularly proud of the fastener-free clip-on mechanism I developed to keep a clean exterior.
